SCHIEDMAYER<\/p>\n

Manufacturing Keyboard instruments since 1735 and the Celesta<\/span> since 1890
\nFor nearly 300 years the Schiedmayer<\/span> family has been involved in manufacturing keyboard instruments.<\/p>\n

Already in 1735 Balthasar Schiedmayer<\/span> built his first clavichord in Erlangen. In 1809, his grandson, Johann Lorenz Schiedmayer<\/span>, together with Carl Dieudonn\u00e9, founded the Schiedmayer<\/span> company in Stuttgart.<\/p>\n

The tradition of manufacturing musical instruments (pianos, harmoniums and celesta<\/span>s) has been passed down from generation to generation.<\/p>\n

Schiedmayer<\/span> started manufacturing the Celesta<\/span> in 1890 shortly after this instrument has been invented by Victor Mustel in 1886.
\nThe Mustel company discontinued manufacturing the Celesta<\/span> in ca. 1975 and Schiedmayer<\/span> remained the sole Celesta<\/span> manufacturer worldwide. Since 1980 Schiedmayer<\/span> is specialized in the production of the Celesta<\/span> whose construction has been continually improved and further developed in the late 2 decades.
