160 years Harmonium

1853 starten die beiden Firmen Mustel und Schiedmayer mit dem Harmoniumbau.

Anlässlich dieses 160jährigen Jubiläums fand ein Konzert im Hause Schiedmayer statt.

Der bekannte belgische Organist, Musikwissenschaftler und Harmoniumspieler Joris Verdin spielte französische sowie deutsche Werke auf Harmonien der Hersteller Mustel und Schiedmayer.

300th birthday of Balthasar Schiedmayer and 200th birthday of Franz Liszt

Anlässlich der Geburtstage von Franz Liszt und Balthasar Schiedmayer fand ein Jubiläumskonzert im Hause Schiedmayer mit folgendem Programm statt.

Lea Schmocker, Schauspielerin, mit einer Hommage an Balthasar Schiedmayer (Firmengründer, geboren 1711 in Erlangen) bzw. an seine Nachfolger – der Weg von Erlangen nach Wendlingen (Lesung).

Sylvia Ackermann, Pianistin, spielte am Hammerflügel No. 7, gebaut im Jahre 1783 von Johann David Schiedmayer (Leihgabe von Georg Ott), sowie an einem Tafelklavier, gebaut 1818 von Johann Erhard Schiedmayer.

Dr. Wolfgang Seibold, Musikwissenschaftler, hielt einen Vortrag über Franz Liszt und seine Verbindung zu Stuttgart, insbesondere zum Hause Schiedmayer.

Ergänzend dazu stellte Thomas Wellen, Pianist, in den Intermezzi exemplarisch die ganze Bandbreite der Schiedmayer-Instrumente vor: Harmonium, Celesta und moderner Flügel. Als Höhepunkt der Veranstaltung spielte er Originalklavierwerke von Liszt u. a. Jeux d’Eaux à la Villa d’Este auf einem Schiedmayer & Soehne Konzertflügel, Baujahr 1871.

Zu Ehren von Balthasar Schiedmayer fand im Rahmen des „Fränkischen Sommers“ am 03.09.2011 in Erlangen ein Jubiläumskonzert statt.

125. Birthday of the Celesta

2011 celebrated the music world the 125th Birthday celesta.

The celesta was invented in 1886 by Victor Mustel and patented.

The mechanical specifications:

  1. The sound bars are located above the wood resonators and struck from above by Filzhämmer.
  2. In the manufacture of this instrument is neither a piano mechanics (vertical stop) nor a grand piano action (attack from below) may be used.

Today, the company Schiedmayer Celsta GmbH is the only company that manufactures the celesta according to the specifications of Mustel world.

200 Years Schiedmayer Stuttgart 1809-2009

Anniversary celebration in the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart.

1809 wurde die Firma Schiedmayer in Stuttgart durch Carl Dieudonné und Johann Lorenz Schiedmayer gegründet.

In der Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart, auf dem ehemaligen Schiedmayer Gelände Neckarstraße 12-16, fand im Festsaal ein Konzert inkl. Preisverleihung des 3. Kompositionswettbewerbs für Celesta statt.
